Legal
Terms of Use
The terms and conditions that govern your use of Salon Accounting.
Last updated: August 7, 2026 — This is a draft policy generated to resolve a broken-link/404 issue and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. Replace this notice once reviewed.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Creative Reputation, LLC, doing business as Salon Accounting ("Salon Accounting," "we," "us," or "our"), a Wisconsin limited liability company. They govern your access to and use of the Salon Accounting website, web application, and iOS and Android mobile apps (together, the "Service").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, downloading our mobile app, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Salon Accounting is a bookkeeping and quarterly tax estimate application built for independent salon professionals. Depending on your plan, the Service may include income and expense tracking, receipt storage, profit and loss reporting, optional bank connections through Plaid, scheduling tools, and quarterly estimated tax calculations. Features and availability may vary by plan and are subject to change.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when you register and to keep it up to date. Notify us immediately at support@salonaccounting.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Free Trials
- Salon Accounting is offered on a subscription basis with plans billed monthly (or as otherwise stated at checkout). Subscription payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc.
- New accounts may be eligible for a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the plan you selected.
- Subscriptions automatically renew each billing period until canceled. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from within the app. Changes generally take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
- Fees are generally non-refundable except as required by law or as we otherwise state at the time of purchase.
5. Cancellation and Data After Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, we may retain your data for a limited period in case you wish to reactivate your account, after which it may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Upload viruses, malicious code, or use automated means to scrape or access the Service without our permission.
- Misrepresent your identity or provide false financial or account information.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers, including Plaid Inc. for bank connections and Stripe, Inc. for payment processing. Your use of these integrations is also subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or availability of third-party services.
8. Not Tax or Legal Advice
Salon Accounting is a bookkeeping and organizational tool. Quarterly tax estimates, profit and loss reports, and other calculations are provided for informational purposes to help you organize your business finances — they are general educational information, not individualized tax, accounting, or legal advice. We recommend working with a qualified tax professional for your annual filing and for advice specific to your situation. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for your tax filings and payments.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding data you submit), is owned by Creative Reputation, LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own business purposes in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of the financial and business data you submit to the Service.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT TAX ESTIMATES OR REPORTS WILL BE ACCURATE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES. THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE TAX OR LEGAL ADVICE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CREATIVE REPUTATION, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR TAX PENALTIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably practicable. You may stop using the Service and cancel your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including billing, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice such as an email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wisconsin.
