Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information across the Salon Accounting web and mobile apps.

Last updated: August 7, 2026 — This is a draft policy generated to resolve a broken-link/404 issue and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. Replace this notice once reviewed.

Salon Accounting ("Salon Accounting," "we," "us," or "our") is a product of Creative Reputation, LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website, web application, and iOS and Android mobile apps (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account and profile information: name, email address, phone number, salon or business name, password (stored in hashed form), and any profile details you provide.
  • Financial and banking data: if you choose to connect a bank account, we use our third-party partner Plaid Inc. to securely retrieve transaction history, account balances, and related banking information. We do not receive or store your online banking credentials — those are handled directly by Plaid.
  • Bookkeeping data you enter: income, tips, expenses, receipts and receipt images, categories, notes, and quarterly tax estimate inputs.
  • Payment information: subscription and billing details processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not store full credit card numbers on our own servers.
  • Usage and device data: pages visited, features used, device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and approximate location, collected through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.
  • Support communications: messages and metadata from support chats handled through Zoho SalesIQ, and emails or calls to our support team.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including bookkeeping, receipt storage, profit and loss reporting, scheduling, and quarterly tax estimate features.
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account and billing history.
  • Import and categorize transactions when you connect a bank account through Plaid.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account, features, and updates.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve the Service, including through aggregated usage analytics.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security incidents, and technical issues.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited information with the following service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy and security practices:

  • Plaid Inc. — securely connects your bank or financial institution and provides transaction and balance data. See Plaid's End User Privacy Policy at plaid.com/legal.
  • Stripe, Inc. — processes subscription payments and stores payment card details on our behalf.
  • Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — collects website and app usage analytics to help us understand how the Service is used.
  • Zoho SalesIQ — powers our in-app and website support chat.
  • Hosting, infrastructure, and email delivery providers that help us operate the Service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable confidentiality obligations.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure how the Service is used through Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some features of the Service.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and financial data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal and tax record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you cancel your subscription, we generally retain your data for a limited period in case you wish to reactivate, after which it is deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@salonaccounting.com, subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most account information directly in the app, disconnect a linked bank account at any time, or contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, restricted access to production systems, and reliance on PCI-compliant and bank-level-security partners (Stripe and Plaid) for payment and banking data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and where changes are material, we will provide additional notice such as an email or in-app notification.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
